Obscure Spares is a service to aid in the repair and restoration of classic cars. Our goal is to help keep these special vehicles on the road. Our Story
Hi, My name is William, and I started Obscure Spares to help share my passion for the preservation and restoration of classic cars. I’ve been involved with automobiles nearly my whole life. (I rebuilt my first engine when I was about 10 years old!)
Cars have driven my working life, leading me to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering. I started my career in manufacturing for a major US based OEM, designing processes for welding, forming, assembly and re-manufacturing. Later I pivoted to working as a Repair Development Engineer for an aviation MRO, designing repairs for helicopters, jumbo jets and everything in between.
This is where Obscure Spares comes in: we are bringing the practices of the aviation industry and knowledge of OEM manufacturing to classic car restoration. Let us use our experience to solve your hardest promblems!
